CSP 595 Study

Welcome to the Service and Health during the Iraq and Afghanistan Era Website

The study is sponsored by the Cooperative Studies Program (CSP) of the VA Office of Research and Development (ORD).

The primary objective of the national full-scale study will be to characterize the impact of deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan on the respiratory health of Veterans.  The study is intended to complement and expand current epidemiologic resources to better understand the long-term influences of military service, deployment, and environmental exposures on the health status of Veterans.  The study supports the CSP mission to advance the health and care of Veterans through cooperative research studies that produce innovative and effective solutions to Veteran and national healthcare problems.

The purpose of the pilot study is to determine the willingness of Veterans who served during the Iraq and Afghanistan Era to provide health and military service information.  This information will help us design the larger national study.
